The darkness in the corner
Attracts my eye;
Why do I feel envious
By the flight of a fly?
I can feel the wind on my face,
I hear the church-bell ring,
Would you embrace the autumn?
Or accompany the spring?
Did you see the black spot?
Or the white sheet where it lay?
Beauty lies with the beholder
As does the light of day.

samrita:
1: welcome to DC
2: a minor quibble... in this line:
By the flight of a fly?
did you (a) consider "of" and (b) if not, why not?
digression:
aaman never lets me publish a poem with word counts less than that of the author's intro
oh well
;)

1: THANK YOU
2 a) No, did not consider 'of'. b) Well to think of it now, 'of' might grammatically be the correct usage, but while i wrote it was 'by' that came naturally. Also, 'Of the flight of a fly' seems laden with tongue-twisting alliteration. Don't you think?
reply to the digression:
I should have read the clause properly! You'll definitely come across longer verses in this space from here on...
;-)

Welcome, please do reduce the length of a bio, perhaps a short poem would be nice?:)
