credit

leaving the plains behind
the engines whine and strain
standing in the doorway
stratus rushing by cheeks
mingling with tears

chameleon cumulus
transmogrifying
silhouettes and faces
as gandhi melts into jesus
sehgal into chaplin
mary into marilyn

it is third and long
or fourth and short
in the waning moments
hopes, titles, dreams
riding the outcome
and the game fizzles
they wish to change fortunes
but it glosses over
like the waves around pebbles

alto cumulus
tiny faces in the stadium
jubilant or tense
living but untouchable

cumulonimbus
on (our) judgement -
cause misplays -
children, relationships
projects, passions gone awol
relentless
these cumulonimbus
floating in and around
dreams, whims, unintended consequences
(is there a law of intended consequences?)
through invisible cosmic contrails
they float away to mars even
venus am not sure...
