Ledzius- "who need to feel deeply ashamed of being Hindus" If that is so it is indeed very sad. What puzzles me is that why indians are doing so well overseas. And at home they seem to turn into bunch of babus. These babus in media seem to have lost their sense of objectivity. But these folks are analytically very smart abroad. Watch them rise in all kind of fields. Is there an explanation for that?

Morris- ""Vivek, politicians and their chamchas in media tend to cherry pick facts that suits them."
I can understand politicians and their chamchas, but why media in general. What is there for all of them."

That's because media is controlled by liberals who need to feel deeply ashamed of being Hindus and think it is fashionable to indulge in hatred of their own culture.

THANKS VIVEK
EXCELLENT ARTICLE AND I ADMIRE FOR POINTING OUT AND LOOKING INTO OTHER SIDE TOO. MAY BE IF THE TRAIN HAD NOT BEEN SET ON FIRE... MAY BE ALL THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. IF HINDUS WANTED IT THEY WOULD HAVE STARTED BUT WHAT SURPRISES ME IS EVERY TIME,EVERY NEWS PAPER PRINTS ARTICLE IT ALWAYS FOCUSES ON AS IF HINDUS KILLED MUSLIMS AND HINDUS WERE NEVER AFFACTED BY THIS. IT NEVER SHOWS HOW ALL COMMUNITIES AND ALL WERE AFFECTED AND THEY ALL HAVE WOUNDS TO HEAL. THIS ALL STARTED FROM THE TRAIN BURNING ON FEB 27TH BUT THAT 27TH IS NEVER MENTIONED.WHY? THOSE ROSTED IN TRAIN WERE NOT IMPORTANT? THEIR LIVES WERE LESS VALUABLE THAN PEOPLE DIED AFTERWARDS.THEY DID NOT HAVE RIGHT TO LIFE AND BELIEVE WHATEVER RELIGION IN DEMOCRACY? TO ENGLISH LANGUAGE MEDIA: PLEASE IF YOU GOING TO PRINT,PRINT FROM THE BEGINNING WHERE IT STARTED,TRAIN BURNING,TO RIOTS, AND DON'T FORGET TO WRITE WHERE HINDUS & MUSLIMS TOOK CARE OF EACH OTHER EVEN DURING THE RIOTS AND SHOWED THEIR HUMANITY. RIOTS ARE ALWAYS FULL OF CRUELTY DONE BY PEOPLE OF ALL RACE,RELIGION,NATIONALITY. THIS IS WHERE HUMANS NEED TO LEARN TO TOLERATE AND ACCEPT DIFFERENCES AND NEED TO CONTROL SELF FROM ACTIONS THAT AFFACT OTHERS. BOMBBLASTS IN MAJOR CITIES AND BOMBAY DID NOT TRIGGER THIS RIOTS EVEN IN GUJARAT THAT SHOWS THE GREATNESS OF PEOPLE AND LESSONS LEARNED BY THIS TYPE OF EXPERIENCES. SO IT'S NOT ONE COMMUNITY BUT ALL WERE HURT AND MEDIA SHOULD STOP PAINTING ONE SIDED PICTURE ALL THE TIME.

I never understood why Modi was called Hitler. And still don't. But I found that the article does help understand what happened in 2002 in Gujarat. Thank you Vivek.

"Vivek, politicians and their chamchas in media tend to cherry pick facts that suits them."
I can understand politicians and their chamchas, but why media in general. What is there for all of them. Are they all chamchas of politicians? If that is so, India is really in trouble. A robust and free media is absolutely necessary for democracy to function. What is the future of democracy in India? Sad state of affairs!

<i>"Before I proceed further let me make one thing clear. I condemn unequivocally both the Godhra incident as well as the riots that followed."</i>

Vivek, the fact that you have to put up this disclaimer is telling in itself of the sorry state of freedom-of-expression and intellectual debate in India, political correctness run amok, as well as arrogation of "guardian of freedom-of-speech" by the so-called secular media. In an open society, there shouldn't be any need to issue such disclaimers when discussing an issue.

Dear Vivek,

Well written and balanced article. The public discourse should be balanced and educated class should support such reporting/opinions. Instead people tend to become ideologues and raise their voice only when their favorite group is wronged.

Regards,

Vivek Bharat:"When we accept the culpability of Jagdish Tytler emanating from the previous Nanavati commission and indemnify the criminality of Madhukar Sarpotdar on the basis of the Srikrishna Commission, why is it that certain sections of our society balk at the exoneration of Modi by the present Nanavati report?"

------------------------------------------------

Vivek, politicians and their chamchas in media tend to cherry pick facts that suits them. They further twist the facts and arrived at warped conclusions.

Ever notice why the secular party of India indulged in a progrom to cleanse Delhi of its Sikh population and it goes under the rug?

That was three Gujarats rolled into one(over 3000 Sikhs dead, including those who served in Army).

I don't care if its the Congress or the BJP or the freemasons split into two opposite wings. They are all so full of themselves.

It may be too much of an expectation, but still, lets hope Modi becomes our Rajapakshe and cleanses the land of all the terror merchants.
