Made me nostalgic of my business trips to Arkansas way back when Clinton was the governor. Mostly stayed in hotels, and got mostly Marriot view of the places I visited. Little rock I found to be like any other mid-size city. Dry counties made my lonesome stays most boring I recall. Even people who lived there admitted it is a backwater state. But I have seen much worse in other states. So Arkansas isn't that terrible. For that, you have to go to special states like Alabama where I have seen people discuss bible over drinks in the bars and family value themed folk songs in a typical southern drawl at karaoke parties at single's night in the only bar the towns have. That is where I am headed next week and it gives me nightmare just thinking about what a lousy trip it is going to be.
