Come Tuesday a Victory of Hope Over Rovesque Fear

November 03, 2008

Will the US be ever the same again?

Since life is all about flux, we continuously change, therefore any questions of change can be rhetorical in nature.

Yes, caution is advised and one must never underestimate the shenanigans of the neconzix, but the looming victory of Barack Hussein Obama (according to these pundits and this study of polls by Nate Silver) to come November 4, 2008 will be a global watershed event.

The last time the US was this polarized was in 1960 over Kennedy's Catholicism. And the next time would perhaps be over a woman or a Jew candidate.

The Bush Presidency has managed to drag the US popularity downward throughout the world. He lied and misled the US - a Mass Deception over WMD and led an offensive against Saddam Hussain's Iraq without a credible exit strategy.

The Iraq fiasco was not the only blemish. Like Inspector Clouseau the lame duck occupant of the White House made more blunders. In Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in his fight with Osama bin Laden. But the ultimate blunder that sealed his fate was the dragging down of the Economy.

On October 20, President Bush delivered some good news:
Despite his stated desire to close the American prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, President Bush has decided not to do so, and never considered proposals drafted in the State Department and the Pentagon that outlined options for transferring the detainees elsewhere, according to senior administration officials. NYT
This is indeed good news for all those who support impeaching George Bush. Scroll down to the bottom of this Movement to impeach George W. Bush link and check the 220 plus links.

It is also good news for this writer. From a post written earlier:
As your very diligent correspondent scrutinized the list of guests at Bahia del Guantanamo Bay Resorts he was surprised not to find Al (the Dick) Cheney, Al (Permanent Frown) Bush, Al (Uncle Abdul) Zalmay Khalilzad, Al Donald (Not Duck) Rumsfeld, Al (Laundering) Paul Wolfowitz, Al (plumber) Daniel Pipes in the very exclusive list of guests who have recently visited the resort. Bahia del Guantanamo Bay Resorts: The Ultimate All-Inclusive Experience
This is where former President George Bush should be incarcerated for at least five years before the US finally gives in and hands him over to the ICT (International Crimes Tribunal) at the Hague for War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity.

t, that should be "Nate" :)

Ron Paul actually was quite honest and outspoken regarding US role in Iraq war, as well as few other candidates who were ignored by the mainstream media.

More food for thought:

http://www.counterpunch.org/schulte07072008.html

Too bad there wasn't a body count for Iraqis during Clinton administration's sanctions and bombings, though all that has been erased from memory by Bush-Cheney's criminal actions that Obama is the agent of hope. Classic "good cop, bad cop" routine eh? :)

The best presidency in recent times come to an end. That Pakistani-Kashmir lover Obama will come to power and ruin the India-US relationship. What a disaster!!!

Chandra #4, have you finally become totally unhinged, or desperately seeking attention?? If the latter, you just got it. If the former, please write a personal letter to your idol and you could actually "have a beer with him".

Temporal,

O desicritic editor, slave and slave-driver. Take a look at this paragraph and tell me what's wrong with it:

Yes, caution is advised and one must never underestimate the shenanigans of the neconzix, but the looming victory of Barack Hussein Obama (according to these pundits and this study of polls by Nate Silver) to come November 4, 2009 will be a global watershed event.

We're not talking about "neconzix", your propensity to constantly try to blame Jews for all the disaster in the world, including the sitting president in the United States. That's the mere opinion of the writer. Take 30 seconds and scan the text.

Now, young man, since you CAN fix the article, FIX it.

Chew on it my man! Obama may not be the magic bullet, and no politician is, but what a major breakthrough!!! Chew on it my man Chandra. As I type this, the election is finally called for Obama on BBC...and I am ecstatic! That's an understatement.

an officer and a gentleman had the honour of losing to president obama

a vote that reflected in equal measure to anti-bush revulsion and the rovesque fear mongering

a victory also for citizen-journos that proved to be more than a match for blatant fear mongering by the erstwhile vested interests

What a night this is! CNN put up this sweeping shot where all the rejoicing faces were panned through and I swear it was such a medley of races, color and cultures. Asian, Black, Indian, White....everybody was there. It seemed like the world was mirrored in Obama's support.

You said it in #23 T. Gigantic leap for mankind and also a much needed one for America whose international image needed urgent resurrection.

The slogan, "Yes, we can!" holds a new and more believable meaning now :) Its hard to explain the phenomenon but jubilation is in the air!

I do not believe that Obama will be "bad" for India. We actually have a president who is willing to recognize that the US is but one sovereign state among many others on this planet! THAT is a BIG starting point. And frankly, the way John Mc cain and barrack Obama had kind words for each other is something our politicians can learn. Can you imagine a defeated Jayalalitha being polite about Karunanidi and vise versa?!!

I do not opine that every student in whole world has got a passion of expository essay writing! However, persons that don't like writing should take an assistance of distinguished paper writing service and enjoy a result.
