But talking about death, and what should be done with one's body after one dies - the general Indian public is still far away from that. Talking about death is almost like a bad omen. Its not done, its avoided, quite often; so much so that many, many people do not like to tell their terminally ill relatives that they are dying. "Whats the use" they say; "The person will not be able to take it" they feel. So we see these cancer patients and their relatives all pretending that everything is okay, and the patient is going to get better soon... talking about donating one's organs, which implies first facing up to the prospect of death in an open fashion - very few are there, realy. Folks on desicritics should be there, though - so lets all tell our closest relative/ spouse that we'd like our body organs to be donated when we die.
