yo, AM, you get back to us when you get a uterus, dude... until then... maybe you can learn something.

normal and painful are two different things.

it is normal for older men to get prostate issues. doesn't make them fun.

There are 6 billion people on this planet....roughly 50 % of them women...I don't think most of them are complaining about bodily functions that happen to be perfectly NORMAL

That's why god has made woman the tougher gender. We dudes are such chickens when it comes to pain and icky things.

In our family we have taken a wow to leave no surprises to our children. I am making sure my son knows facts of life, as and when he gets curious, and ditto with my little daughter. Hopefully she won't be surprised when she endures these insults.

I've heard gory tales from women who were checked for breast cancer. Does it ever get easy for us?

why oh why do they keep those damn speculums (is that really the plural of speculum?) so FRIGGING COLD? Can they not be sterile AND warm?

and can they not do it without using what feels like a toilet brush to complete the transaction?

the only thing worse? an internal exam at 38 weeks pregnant. holy mother of god, that hurts. only time I cried. Nearly kicked the !#(&!(# out of the OB!

Pap smears - UGH! I still remember the nurse blithely telling me, "just close your eyes and pretend you are lying on a beach somewhere" moments before sliding a cold thingummybob in me. *shudder*

Good god those Pap smears! Arghh. I (should) know how things work and am still surprised when I get the diagnosis. I guess the surprise factor adheres to the real life experience and didactic theory dissolves into excruciating oblivion once that darned speculum makes its entry. :(

Nice one Dee.
