DG : I have no freakin clue. Maybe they think Ms. World is more important than winning Ms. Universe.

Aspi : Agree, You can never compare any now-actress to the likes of Zeenat or Parveen but I thought Lara was really good...and as for Priyanka, she seems to be getting a bit big-headed. :)

Hey I wonder if Adnan Sami got his tummy stapled. I normally never comment on people's weight (much to the frustration of people who've lost it and are looking for compliments) but this is of medical importance :)

Since Dr. Atul Gawande is now a desi critic and he wrote a terrific chapter on this in his first book, you never know, he might chime in.

Saks,
I thought the winner went to compete in the Miss Universe shindig and the first runner up went for the Miss World thing. Whats this about the Miss India-World being touted as the actual winner?

Felt Lara did a really bad, lacklustre perfomance.

& don't get me started on the costumes in the main show ! They were tacky ill fitting. Horrible colour combinations that did not suit Indian skin tones at all (silvery pearly shiny stuff not the haldi kumkum Rocky S range - although those were bad too)

Couldn't believe that Femina Miss India quality had sunk so bad. The supposed blog being run by India Times on the contest is a terrible thing. (Don't waste yr time googling it)

I thought the winner looked familiar. Didnt realise she was the VJ of style patrol or a similar concept show on Channel V. I thought known faces werent allowed to compete ?

Y was I watching ? dh was trying to get an "Indian beauties" fix during the ad breaks of England Australia which as you said Sakshi was infinitely more interesting

I think Priyanka has always looked icy and stiff. That's why I liked her so much in Don where she was supposed to be icy and stiff.

But hey, hey what's this favorable comparison of Lara Dutta to Zeenat Aman? Zeenie was a goddess. Besides she was in Don. Lara Dutta is hardly even an apsara.
