Hurricanes, Earthquakes and Floods belong to nature - but kindness belongs to humans.

The response level to local and national disasters is awesome but it's a damn shame that so many citizens take advantage of the negative situations.

I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.

This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys "angels" got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

Oh please! The very same people who are going on about how freedom of speech should reign and everything is becoming too 'politically correct' are raising objections to people discussing this. Slight contradiction, no?

I agree with you that racism should be pointed out and fought no matter what shape or form it comes in. There are some who think eve-teasing or sexual harassment are 'small' issues but they are not. Similarly, marginalization and victimization on the basis of race is not a small thing.

Well... I thought long & hard before I did this cartoon... and I spoke to a few Indians living in the UK... to summarise I think this Big Brother incident has given vent to what they have been experiencing in real life on & off. Having said that, in my personal experience such incidents are rare & I accept that it is only a show. And also there was not much else news over the week... so didn't have much of a choice... :)

Deepa,Sanjay, itisha : Yes,yes the incident has been blown out of proportion but then watch out for its ripple effect. What we saw was the main plot/scene and the sequel is yet to follow.

@business : Jade Goody endorsed a perfume brand called Shh, whose bottles are made in a Gujarat plant. The bottle production has come to a halt following her remarks on actor Shilpa Shetty.

@internet :Apart from the volumes floating in blogs and news sites, this topic has produced some good satire tinged posts, one group calling it as "racism" and the other group calling it as "girl bitching"/"bullying".Try bullshitpress.blogspot.com and deadbrain.co.uk
I read these two and guess there would be lots more.

It also fine-tuned some amount of Sidhuism. Read in a newspaper where the ace shooter Jaspal Rana said something on these lines " The Indian Sports Department treats the sport [shooting] as Jade treated Shilpa"

I agree with both of you. It has been enough now.
As if the Indian govt's interference is going to do any good to the Indians resident in London or USA.They would still be fighting for themselves.

Thank you, Sanjay, for saying what I wanted to say. I wish we could all SHUT UP about this thing and not add to the noise. As a matter of fact, the more articles I see on desicritics on this subject, the less keen I am to read them. Enough said. Not a word more from me on this.

Oh please -- I wish people wouldn't get their knickers in a knot over this. It was just a stupid TV show, and its participants had been specifically chosen in the hopes of making these types of conflicts happen. After all, if everyone had been living together uneventfully, would you really bother to tune in, just to see them asking each other to pass the salt and pepper at the breakfast table??

Hell no -- people want controversy, excitement, spice. So the participants were selectively chosen to make this happen. And now the Indians are predictably, gullibly, and narcissistically crying foul and shrieking to the heavens. It's particularly awful to see the Indian govt and its politicians rushing to get involved in this, like the bunch of pot-bellied cannibals that they are. Pathetic bottom-feeders.

If you want to create a drama or a riot, then just call a bunch of Indians together, and nature will take its course.
