Dhoom 2 Kissing Affair : Lawsuit Against the Actors
Sakshi Juneja
Well today our (Oh so highly) judicial court would be passing their judgment on whether they think the pair i.e. Hrithik Roshan and Ashwariya Rai are guilty of corrupting the minds of our innocent youth and offending 'Bharitiya' women.
The law-suit was filed in the court of judicial magistrate first class R K Batham by advocate Shailendra Dwivedi under Sections 292 (vulgarity) and 509 (derogatory to women) of the Indian Penal Code.
For those who read my blog on a regular basis would be aware of my thoughts on the kissing episode. According to me it was totally "thanda", so one can totally forget the feeling of being offended and definitely no arousing. I thought Hrithik did a good job, as in he kissed well but Ash did not give her 100% to the act. Now that could be due to the presence of the other 'A' factor in her life or she is simply a bad kisser.
I was really amused when I heard couple of newspapers reporting that this particular sequence actually caused a tiff between Ashwariya and (maybe soon to be in-laws) the Bachchans. But to actually have a lawsuit filed against the two stars for this one scene is not only unjust but downright idiotic.
Now whatever may be the "actual" reason behind the lawyer's decision of going to the court, what I don't get is the fact that if the Indian Censor Board gave the shot a clean chit then who the heck is he? I mean isn't that the very reason why we do have a censor board in place, so that they can chop of all the unethical, vulgar, anti-religion, etc. types of intentions from the film industry?
If any and every one can file a lawsuit or stall a film in spite of it being cleared by the ones in authority then we might as well get down with the whole practice of having a censor board. Doesn't it make more sense?
Another thing that pricks my mind is that where was the lawyer when the Indian film audience saw the arrivals of Sherawats, Hashmis and the likes. And doesn't he watch Mahesh Bhatt films? How come his personal moral police woke up only when he saw a big-budget film with two of the most-salable actors in the country? I guess when you look at it this way, it becomes quite clear as what made the lawyer "do the do".
It is my opinion that the judicial court should have just dismissed the concerned lawyer's petition the very first day instead of actually setting up a date to pass a judgment and thereby wasting time and giving undeserved publicity to the people and the film involved. In a country like ours where thousands of crucial and deserving cases go through a never-ending waiting period, giving priority to such matters serves no purpose for the nation or its people.
Hopefully the court's decision on the concerned matter would be in favor of the actors involved and it would be even better if the court sets the record straight over such lame cases which could actually help in refraining others from coming up with more such cases.
To make things even more clear here is the video of the talked-about scene, so you guys can judge it for yourself. And just one thing though, do not blink or you might miss it.

As far as I know, the movie clearly had a 'parental discretion' advice on it. Perhaps Mr Dwivedi should have seen that and understood the legal definition of 'parental discretion'. So why all the fuss ?
There's no doubt that is a lot of the adult related scenes in hindi movies these days. These are meant for the titillation unlike the Hollywood movies where a kiss is simply a 'kiss' or even sex is simply sex - no big deal. But in India, a kissing scene is prolonged to infinity, butterflies coming togther, blooming of flowers and music in the background etc. The directors deliberately try to send the message 'Oh look ... now for the grand shot... hold on ...... here comes the smmoooooccchhhhh ... go ahead .. salivate and droool at this scene .... You paid 200 bucks for this movie and so you have Paisa Vassol. Frankly, such kissing scenes sicken me .... not because I don't enjoy seeing some other cutie kissing, but because such a HUGE deal is made out of it. (Am not a movie buff )...And in these days of unlimited free internet porn, I just don't see what's the big deal, Mr Dwivedi these unlimited windows are tarnishing India at a more faster pace than a kiss in the movie. Clean that first..
Also as one of the report says Mr Dwivedi,is yet to see Mallika Sherawat's movies..give him some time..also Mr Dwivedi don't miss Rakhi Sawant, Malika Sherawat, Neha Dhupia, Celina Jaitley and lots more.

I think Dwivedi is fibbing when he says that he still has to watch the Mallika et all movies?
How could he have missed the famous unforgettable large posters of Neha Dupia that were all over Mumbai a couple of years back????Even I found myself staring at those ones.
And he noticed the "if you blink, you miss the kiss" kiss.
Hmmmmmmmm.

Let me get this straight- Rape scenes are okay but kissing and mutual consent scenes corrupt the mind of the young and are offensive to women. People and their screwed sense of logic (Shrug)
