KBC3 : Shah Rukh Dethrones Big B

Without a doubt it could be said that Star Plus's "Kaun Banega Crorepati" was solely responsible for giving Amitabh Bachchan his lost fame and much needed money.
The desi-version of "Who wants to be a Millionaire" was an instant phenomenon when it began airing couple of years back. The once Big Man of Bollywood made his debut as a television star, a risky move, but the man was left with no better option.
"Phir lock kar diya jayee" was on everybody's lips and as they say "The rest is history".
After two successful seasons of KBC, one would think that channel would never dream of replacing Big B. I mean who in their right mind would even dare to do so. But that's exactly what Star India has done.
The Big B who not only hosted Star's flagship game- show Kaun Banega Crorepati but also spearheaded the Channel's movement towards TRP -topping maneuvers that have stood the Channel in good stead for over five years, is no longer going to be seen in the host's seat. Shah Rukh Khan will get onto the premium seat vacated by the Big B.Samir Nair attributes this change of guard to the original host's busy schedules. "We pursued Mr Bachchan for months. But he didn't seem to be enthusiastic. In the meantime, we acquired KBC rights in the season-format for years whereby we had to have the show on air for 52 episodes every year, or our rights lapsed. We just had to take a call. In the light of Mr Bachchan's response we had no choice but to think of someone else who was capable of taking on the mantle."
Tell him it's hard to take on the Big B's mantle, and SRK laughs, "I think Shah Rukh will do a fantastic job. He'll bring his own unique charm to the show. Like Mr Bachchan, Shah Rukh is smart and bright. We all remember the celebrity episode on KBC which he did. It was one of our best episodes. He brought his own encyclopedia, did his research and almost won the crore. He'll bring a new spin to the show."
And this is not it, the exchange of money seems to have sky-rocketed as well.
KBC 2 anchored by Amitabh Bachchan charged the sponsors over Rs 3 lakh for a 10-second spot and around Rs 20 crore for each episode. This time with Bollywood's hottest star Shahrukh Khan making appearance on the small screen, the stakes are going to be even higher.KBC3 will have 104 episodes and for each episode Khan will be paid around Rs 30-50 lakh. With such high figures and even higher popularity, the sponsor and spot rates on the show are bound to inflate. Star is counting big time on SRK's charm to woo the advertisers.
To me it looks like the King Khan has taken the phrase "Walking in someone else's shoes" too literally. First he runs over Amitabh with his sad-acting skills in Farhan Akhtar's remake "Don" and now he is out to make his point with KBC.
Whatever may be the reasons, hopefully, the stuttering actor won't subject us, the television viewers, to his filmy antics.
To make things a bit more interesting, I have put up a poll question. Let's see who turns out to be the actual winner.

The new age Don alias SRK is smart and has also factored in the inflation,thanks to his economics lessons learnt at DU's Hanraj College.. How ? As per reports, SRK has struck the deal with double the amount as that of the old Don alias Big B for the KBC episodes...

Though not a preference one could painfully stomach the stutter. With SRK's affinity for melodrama, hope he will not break into a sob everytime a contestant gets booted off :)

SRK is just too perfect. Amitambh was someone who had lost his charm when he came to KBC. He gained his charm through this show that is made a sort of comeback. Where is SRK has already a success.....Amitabh is no match for SRK

Ahh! Its really hard to bare him once a while on the big screen..I shudder to think of seeing him once every damn week on the small screen.
Anyways...not denying that he does have a good rappo with his audience during stage shows...so he actually might end up doing a decent job.
But not to forget...he is afterall walking in Big B's shoes. :)

Dare I say it, Big B and SRK (and a few others I could think of while I am at it!) have all been overhyped out of all proportions, IMHO. Mere mortals, after all, aren't they?

Now that everyone is all smiles, being true to SRK's talents, I would not mind him when he is not himself.
I loved him in Swades & for most parts in Veer Zaara. So here's hoping he will not be himself in KBC(Not be himself - kinda dumb but that's what Phoebe tells Chandler prior to him attending an interview in an episode of Friends. Just don't be yourself).

When a civilisation becomes too civilised, it becomes fossilised by barbarians attack. Yes associate of foriegn invaders not onlt dethrone Big `B', they will dethrone everybody in public life. Politics, films, arts, culture and everywhere and brainwash the people to remian sleeping so that they can easyly destroy the civilisation.
Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Maya, Aztecs all native civilisations were destroyed not because invaders were more brave but more crooked and barbaric.
Arab Sheikhs has hugely invested in shared of media realted bussiness in last 10 years. At a time even news paper `Hindu' , Sultan of Brunei became the largest share holder. I am not sure of current status.
Films and media is being heavily financed by Dawood Ibrahim and people of his choice will be successful.
Of course they keep on allowing few people so that Indians may not suspect him intemtions.
Therefore Shahrookh or anybody else will not dethrone big B of small B or C due to talent or other nonsense stuff, it is money game, a deeper plan.
In 1947 , India lost 12% population and 28% of land only to create two permanent enemies.
If Indians keep on sleeping under toxication drug of secularism, Kerala kashmir and Assam are the next to loose in another 50 years.
These three also will become jehadi fanatics pausing bigger chalenge to secular India.
Let's be secular but not sleepy. Look the bigger picture, think deeper , evaluate history since 713AD and decide further course of action.
mentality that invaded India more then 100 times in last 1000 years, mentality that demnded partition of India, the mentality that is blasting trains ,temples and Mosques is still active in our country. This mentality is the enemy of civilisation and humanity. Dawood and his associated are merely soft facemasks of that evil ideology and sharrooks dethroning big B etc are minor symptons of their sucess.
