I found it amusing that you managed to create a monolitic block of indians and another monolithic block of kashmiri's, and then constructed this argument around it. You may want to go a bit granular to see the trees from the wood (if you excuse the pun! ))

Indians do not give a damn about what others think about them. Thats includes Kashmiris.

Indians are just interested in getting back their past glory in the world. There was a time Indians influenced Persia, Afganistan, Far East and even China. It happened in the dimensions of culture, religion and economics. In last 2000 years, a lot of Indians settled in Egypt and Arab countries (like Yemen) as well just the way they settled in Far east.

So, Indian interests are exactly similar to interests of many Islamic nations. The goals of both are to become hegemonies without bothering about what happens to others and other cultures.

Might is right. Full stop.

I do not think any of the Islamic countries give a damn about other's sentiments. The same is true for Indians, Chinese and Americans.

Everybody is in same boat.

All statements about who loves whom and who hates who are secondary. All nation states are oppressive whether they are Islamic, Hindu, Christian or Democratics or autocratic.

What is happening in Kashmir is also happening all over India. Kashmiris can crib and other Indians have no choice. Small children and mentally ill are put in jail without trial for decades and no one even bothers about it. There are thousands of such examples all over India. But, similar incidents in Kashmir get into the reports on human rights.

Make Kashmir an independent nation state. It will also become like any other nation state. Its a big Animal Farm. Its easy to dream, be an idealist and be intolerant.

But, the greatest strength is in acceptance without compromise.

Indian will become an even bigger hegemony in near future with its relative increasing economic power compared to its neighbours.

So, its not a very wise idea for anyone to create enemies (who are big and powerful). Its not at all wise idea to also fight battle with many enemies simultaneously (just the way Hitler did).

In must say, Indians and Chinese are two of the most shrewd cultures in this world. These feminine nations may look weak, tolerant, abused and cornered. But, their resilience and preseverence can crush highly focused, logical and disciplined masculine cultures. They can also pit one against the other without getting involved. Often, the opponents may not even understand where the hell the misery is coming from. Both the countries with 2 billion and growing everywhere (in the world) in the dimensions of culture, religion, practices and trade create massive juggernaut even though they may seem like opponents.
