Now, now, stop the immaculate hatred.
Deepti is going to tell us this is actually revenge for the 2001 Bradford riots, which were openly exhorted by Chief Minister Tony Blair. The 2001 victims are ample reason for anyone to want to take revenge.
Melody will ask us to note how some local skinhead activists in Britain had clearly been hoping to provoke this situation by inciting Muslim youth into bombing. Furthermore, all that awful aid that Britain sent Pakistan following the earthquake was clearly an attempt to humiliate Pakistan's national honour and to expose the deficiencies of its state.
Finally, as Rehman tells us, any attempt to hold members of minority communities responsible for terrorism could result in partition. Do we really want to see Azad Britistan created because the provocative Chief Minister Tony Blair and his Bradford skinhead punks couldn't leave well enough alone?
Last but not least, Temporal will tell us... wait for it...
"Beware their Final Solution! They want us in gas chambers! The end is near! They're baying for our blood! Stop them before it's too late! Today they seize our Shampoo bottles, tomorrow they'll turn us into soap!!"

and so I can add one more question that will go unanswered
1) Who was responsible for 8/10???

it is easy to rant from the margins, and from arm-chairs. the laptop warriors.
do these mad people believe they can 'finish' off 1 billion people most of whom are innocent?
anon-by-choice's question is still unanswered. 'how does it feel to put a sword in another human being...'.
only delusional can think, nay fantasize.
except macho writing nothing much.
the BJP/NDA had an opportunity to do what they wanted to do. could they? kill all the 140 million of all muslims? would they?
why did modi stop at 2000. they could have gone on with the orgy of killing ruthlessly all of them and 'closed' the chapter, at least in gujarat.
reports say that the statesman vajpayee hit his forehead when he heard of the pogram. i am sure the saffronistas wd call him senile old man.
sam
what do you have to say about the killing of staines? do you condone it too?
it's the same logic my friend. he was trying to 'convert'! or some other shit.
my only request for sanity's sake, pl do not equate all the muslims for the acts of some ruthless, heartless, cynical assholes.
and assholes do not have religion. if they do, they are every where, in every religion - you just need the eyes and guts to acknowledge.

Staines....yes he was wrong. Just coz he was a christian, he had no business converting even when he was warned.
Mother Teresa---also did the same...but there is a big difference. She loved and people came to her.
Religion must not be imposed, live and let live.
Whne I was in bombay , i too thought very little of sainiks...but changed my mind since I came here.

i am neither for or against conversions. India is a free country - so far.
but again the question is not whether staines went for conversions or not - the question is does one have the right to burn a man and children alive, when you are in disagreement with his actions.
so, do you condone the action of goons?
i think it is naivete to believe that the saffronistas do not or will not come after the christians. insecure, hatred-filled eyes cannot distinguish my friend.
you could read enough reports of attacks on churches in gujarat and nuns in other parts of the country.
as of now there is no 'pogrom' - does it take much to mount one - by creating a climate of fear and hatred amongst the majority?

Sam: "These fucking bloody terrorist Pakis that were caught with bombs in London airport are at it once again....to kill thousands of inncocents aboard the plane enroute to USA. "
One gets blinded in hatred (as is evident from the language) and is unable to grasp the basics:
1. It was Pakistan's coordination that the terror plot was foiled. Arrests were made in Pakistan and the information was shared with British Intelligence which lead to further arrests. http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenews.aspx?type=topNews&storyID=2006-08-10T175654Z_01_SP229366_RTRUKOC_0_UK-SECURITY-BRITAIN-PAKISTAN.xml
2. Also those caught were BRITISH CITIZENS of Pakistani origin. Now when Amir Khan (British boxing champion of Pakistani origin) wins the boxing championship is called British and when they are involved in a terrorist activity, they are called Pakistanis.
An act of a state (which was to prevent this attack) shows what that country stands for not acts of individuals (that too of foreign nationality with Pakistani origin).

Rehman,
USA has stopped all flights from Pakistan to USA .
That says it all.
24 people were caught and several of them were pakistanis.
(so much so for the tip off from Pak---only a farce)
Ok lets not call them Pakis..they were once again all Islamic fanatics...doing their usual routine..killing innocents to assert their religion.
Balaji;
I dont know what saffornists you are talking about.
These saffronists have already been killed by the muslims in march 13, 7/11, and svereal other bombings all ever Kashmir & Kargil war. They have been eradicated.
Christians are NOW threatened by islamis fanatics who are carrying on their GREEN-BLACK show
And you still have not understood the difference of approach of Mother Teresa and Staines.
FYI even Sister Nirmala was converted..but that was her choice. It is each ones choice and that is more impt. The church also never came to the rescue of Staines. We know and you know too. Staines was warned and he should have left when he was asked to. We should not forget in several villages yet , a panchyat system is followwed and to survive in those villages, panchayat rules must be followed. Staines should have known better. And he knew it. His own wife said nothing after his death coz she knew he was wrong. The church also never came to the rescue of Staines.
All my life I grew up in Mahim, Mumbai and went to Saint Michael's school. Must say my Hindu friends parents treated our Father with respect and lots of admiration.
BUt where as my Muslim friends parents would usee harsh language, pressurise our Father to stop preaching Christanity in school.
Why send your children to this school then?
I can site 5000 examples of how non-cooperative they had been . Also all of them are making the rounds of Mahim day-night and have no career.
Whereas for the rest of us, Christians, hindus and Parsis in my school are leading a civilised family career oriented life. A true secular in the existence.

LONDON (AP) - Brothers arrested in Pakistan and England emerged Saturday as key figures in a suspected plot to destroy U.S.-bound aircraft during flight, while prominent Muslims in Britain accused the government of encouraging extremism through its foreign policy.
Pakistani intelligence agents were questioning at least 17 people, including British nationals. British police released one suspect Friday night but were continuing to question 23 others suspected of involvement to bring down as many as 10 airliners with innocent-looking liquid explosives.
A senior Pakistani security official said the arrest of Rashid Rauf, a British citizen, was followed within days by a telephone call from someone in Pakistan urging the British plotters to execute their plan.
"This telephone call intercept in Karachi and the arrest of Rashid Rauf helped a lot to foil the terror plan," said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said Friday that Rauf was a "key person" in the investigation. His brother, Tayib Rauf, 22, was among the suspects arrested in Britain; police refused to comment on news reports that another brother was also detained.
The Pakistani official told The Associated Press that most of those linked to the plot in Pakistan had been arrested.
Among the two or three still at large, he said, was Matiur Rahman, a senior figure in the al-Qaida-linked Pakistani militant group, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, whose name was mentioned by one of the detainees during interrogation.
Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao refused Saturday to share any information about Rahman's possible links to the failed London terror plot.
Prominent British Muslims, including three members of Parliament, said in an open letter Saturday that "current British government policy risks putting civilians at increased risk both in the U.K. and abroad."
The letter, printed in several British papers, said Britain's intervention in Iraq and the failure to secure an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah militants in Lebanon were providing "ammunition to extremists who threaten us all."
"The debacle of Iraq and now the failure to do more to secure an immediate end to the attacks on civilians in the Middle East not only increases the risk to ordinary people in that region, it is also ammunition to extremists who threaten us all," said the letter, which was signed by three of four Muslim members of Parliament and 38 Muslim groups, including the influential Muslim Council of Britain.

NEW DELHI, India (Reuters) -- The U.S. embassy in India warned American citizens on Friday of possible attacks by al Qaeda in or around New Delhi and Mumbai in the run-up to the country's Independence Day celebrations next week.
The warning came a day after British police said they foiled a major plot to attack transatlantic airliners, and exactly a month after Mumbai, India's commercial hub, was hit by a series of bomb blasts which killed 186 people and wounded over 700.
The Indian government, however, tried to play down the alert saying it was a routine advisory by a foreign mission to its nationals.
Officials at several other foreign missions, including the British and the German, also said they were not aware of any specific threat.
"We have urged U.S. citizens to keep a low profile, be alert and attentive to their surroundings," a U.S. embassy spokesman said.
"The embassy has learnt that foreign terrorists, possibly including members of al Qaeda, allegedly intend to carry out a series of attacks," he said, adding the attacks might occur in or around New Delhi and Mumbai.
The information was gathered by U.S. intelligence agencies and the embassy was working closely with the Indian government, he added.
"Likely targets include major airports, key central Indian government offices, and major gathering places such as hotels and markets," he added.
India celebrates the anniversary of independence from British colonial rule on Aug. 15 and security has already been stepped up in the capital as well as other major cities.
The festivities have been marred in the past by attacks by Islamist militants fighting Indian rule in disputed Kashmir as well as insurgent groups in the country's troubled northeast.
Routine advisory
Indian officials said the country was anyway on a high alert in the run up to Aug. 15 and they were working with U.S. agencies over the alert, which, they added, was not unusual.
"It is normal for missions to issue advisories when they have any information," Indian Home Secretary Vinod Kumar Duggal told a news conference. "It's a very innocuous advisory ... to their own staff, to their own employees."
Some U.S. nationals echoed Duggal's sentiments.
Stuart Zimble, a humanitarian worker from Philadelphia, said he had received similar warnings in the past "although nothing so specific, about al Qaeda".
"For me it's not that unusual," said Zimble who has lived in New Delhi for over three years. "It's a relatively safe city, but on big holidays I generally stick close to home."
Earlier, following the arrests in Britain, security at all 55 airports across India was tightened and hand baggage was not being allowed on certain flights to the West.
Also, police in the Indian capital said they had arrested two men they said were members of Pakistan-based Islamist group Lashkar-e-Taiba late on Thursday from New Delhi's main railway station after they arrived from Kashmir.
"They were carrying some RDX explosives and weapons. We suspect they planned an attack during Independence Day celebrations," a Delhi Police spokesman said.
Lashkar has been blamed for several deadly attacks in Kashmir and elsewhere across India in the past, including serial bomb blasts in Delhi last year and the Mumbai train bombings.
Officials in Mumbai said they were taking the U.S. warnings very seriously.
"We are stepping up security at the U.S. consulate in Mumbai as well as at the airport and other major installations," said D.K. Sankaran, the most senior bureaucrat of Maharashtra state, of which Mumbai is the capital.
"This warning as well as other factors such as what happened in Britain yesterday and the run-up to Independence Day is making us take this all very seriously," he told Reuters.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Nine Egyptian students out of 11 who went missing in the United States two weeks ago are in custody, a government statement said Saturday.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and FBI investigators are trying to locate the remaining two students. The FBI issued a nationwide alert with the students' names, ages, passport numbers and photos.
Three students were found and arrested Friday night in Des Moines, Iowa, according to the statement from the FBI and the immigration service.
"The arrests were made without incident. ICE agents tracked these students' travels from New York to San Francisco to Des Moines," the statement said. "All three were arrested on administrative immigration violations as out-of-status students."
They have been identified as Ahmed Refaat Saad El Moghazi El Laket, 19; Mohamed Ibrahim El Sayed El Moghazy, 20; and Moustafa Wagdy Moustafa El Gafary, 18.
Six students were arrested earlier this week.
A preliminary investigation "has not identified any credible or imminent threat posed by any of the 11 Egyptian students," the FBI has said.
The agency also stressed that there are no ties between the Egyptians and the suspected terror plot announced Thursday by British and U.S. authorities, The Associated Press reported.
The 11 male students were part of a group of 17 that arrived at New York's John F. Kennedy airport July 29 for an exchange program at Montana State University. All had valid student visas, but only six showed up for class, authorities said.
Federal authorities began thoroughly tracking international students after learning that one of the 9/11 hijackers was in the country on an expired student visa.
The students unaccounted for have been identified as:
• Mohamed Saleh Ahmed Maray, 20
• Mohamed Ibrahim Fouaad El Shenawy, 17

Oh my God, my taunt was considered as an acceptance of your shallow claim. heheh, how pathetic, still couldn't give me a proof.
This is why I say, hatred makes you blind. The article which you quoted clearly shows that Pakistan's cooperation was vital in preventing the attacks but me, always optimistic me, expects haters to look with an open eye.
And before you boost about the "fair trial". read some lines from this article
"http://desicritics.org/mt/mt-comments.php?mode=red&u=http://www.sundayherald.com/36381"
" Few would deny the failure of the Gujarat judicial system to deliver justice. Accusations of intimidation are rife and many victims have signed affidavits disowning their previous statements to police.
Allauddin Ansari, of the Islamic Relief Committee in Ahmedabad, said people were signing affidavits out of fear.
Rafik Tyrewalla, a witness to a massacre in the Naroda Patiya area of Ahmedabad where about 90 men, women and children were burned or stabbed to death, said he told police he had named the wrong people in his original statement. He said: "I don't want to even acknowledge I filed a complaint. I have started a new life ... let me live without fear. My family's safety is of utmost importance to me now."
Another former witness, Ayubbhai Musabhai, who had accused a Hindu political leader of taking part in the killings, said he could no longer withstand the pressure on him to recant. He said: "[When] somebody at the cycle repair shop casually warns me to be careful, the message is loud and clear. I wanted to get rid of this trouble so I gave them the affidavit."
For more than a year, human rights groups have felt powerless to stop the intimidation of witnesses. Two months ago, their worst fears were confirmed when witness after witness refused to give evidence in the first high profile trial arising from the riots. Twenty-one men were accused of murdering 11 Muslims and three Hindus at the Best Bakery in Ahmedabad. But after witnesses repeatedly stonewalled or refused to answer questions, all 21 accused were acquitted."

Indians in general are obssessed with west and since west is severely suffering of Islamophobia, Indians like you have to imitate them to catch up with westerners. hmm, perhaps one can understand your nervousness, 800 years of Mughals rule can do that to anyone.

"In the 21st century the Dalit's are unbelievably as oppressed as they were a century ago. They are not allowed to own land and when the rent is due on their hovel, the young daughters in the family, and I'm talking eleven, twelve years old, are forced into giving sexual favors in exchange for rent and family protection. It is considered better to be born a cow, than a Dalit or Untouchable Woman. Because of this, infanticide of Untouchable female babies is common. According to one statistic, 10 million Dalit girl babies were killed in the last 15 years."

Oh, really?? I had no idea. Those filthy inferior Dravidians. How dare they? They are the root of all of Hinduism's ills.
So they are the ones who wrote the Manusmriti or the Vedas? So that asshole Manu who called for people to be classified based on varnas was a Dravidian?
Man, thanks for educating me.

Anil,
I was waiting for this. I didn't call the Dravidians filthy -- you did. Afro-Dravidian culture and its tribalism pre-dates Manu, the Vedic era, and any organized religion on the subcontinent. What exactly are you objecting to, here?

insecuristas dancing on pinhead! crying crying saffronista saffronista coz thats all they can say ...that is so empty and not apt for the situation.
Mind you the people that were caught at London airport..were running the GREEN-BLACK show with the usual names and killing innocents in the name of religion(their religion). And I care a damn what that religion is. LIVE AND LET LIVE.
If you want to say something...then do something and stop those people as they are your folks. And they may listen to you. Why dont you follow the steps of President Kalam and author Salman rusdie for saying it 'as it is'.
You should follow your own advice:
a little advice. When you have little knowledge of what you are talking about, keep your mouth shut. Stop babbling on and on like a fool. As they say, even God cannot help the stupid. You are ignorant and have no idea what you are talking about. There is nothing more I have to say to you.

Let me take you back a little in time.
A little History lesson as it is--
1971: when 97000 coward terrorist Paki soldiers surrendered to our General Ahuja, begging him to give them a second chance.
