Lok Paritran Finalises six Constituencies for Tamil Nadu Elections
Kishore
We are not contesting to form a government. We want to tell people we are an alternative.
- Tanmay Rajpurohit, president of the Lok Paritran party, ruling out possibilities of finding allies in established political parties.
The Judgment Day is almost here. The Tamil Nadu assembly polls are just round the corner and Lok Paritran is on its toes in their valiant attempt to make a difference.
Here's a bunch of youngsters who passed out of the country's most premier educational institute, whose intellectual aptitude could have taken them places and earned them huge bucks. But here they are toiling between the streets of Chennai, sweating themselves out in the sweltering heat and slogging against the arid humidity that keeps you dripping all day long, with an indomitable strength at heart, a vigor in action, and a mission in hand.
The biggest challenge for them would be to break into the mindset of the voting public, that seldom walks to the polling booth, to remove from their minds the stereotypes they have developed on the whole idea of politics and politicians. In an arena flooded with uneducated masses persistently lead astray by promises of caste and money, Paritrana would find the challenge as daunting as anything under the sun.
But then, we are talking not of yet another set of people whose words echo loud across the hall but mutes to a distant spectator when it comes to actions. But we are talking of a bunch of youth whose social awareness is as extensive as their intellectual prowess, who have put behind their materialistic interests and have incubated every ounce of their courage to try to make a difference to the nation.
On May 8th, the D-Day, Lok Paritran will be contesting from Mylapore, T.Nagar, Thousand Lights, Park Town, Saidapet and Anna Nagar in the Chennai city and Rasipuram in Salem district.
Let us wish them all the very best.

They could have chosen small constituencies in rural areas close to the towns and campaigned intensely. they do stand a small chance with the middle class, but not in a big city like chennai, where their efforts would be largely wasted.
